About

Thanks for reading up on me! Choosing the right therapist can feel daunting, but I hope this website helps you get a sense of who I am and how I work.

I completed my counselling degree in 2006 and became a Member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC) in 2008. Since then, I’ve completed a postgraduate diploma in counselling and am currently expanding my practice by studying towards a qualification in clinical supervision (2026).

Since starting my private practice in 2020, I have met with hundreds of people for many hundreds of hours - some for just a handful of sessions, others over several years. Different challenges call for different lengths of work.

Each client brings their own circumstances, and I feel privileged to be part of their lives, however briefly. There are always ways we can make meaningful changes, even if some people come with a loss of hope.

After 20 years in New Zealand, my family and I relocated to the UK in 2024 to be closer to family.

Alongside my private practice, I now work as a psychological therapist for a not‑for‑profit charity supporting children in care.

I am an Accredited Registrant with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (MNCPS) and adhere to their Code of Ethics.

While talking therapy is at the heart of my work, my career path has been varied. Born and raised in Sweden, I spent my late teens working in a fish factory in the Norwegian fjords (freezing, but I enjoyed earning money!), followed by a few years as a long‑haul flight attendant in London, later in retail in Australia. I’ve even called Papua New Guinea home for a number of years.

I also hold a Master’s Degree (Distinction) in Development Studies and spent several years in international development, in New Zealand and the Pacific.

I understand the challenges of living away from your place of origin, and the cross‑cultural demands and expectations that can come with that.

I love connecting with people. Learning about their challenges, abilities, hopes and constraints, and finding ways to support them in living the kind of life they aspire to is what this profession is about for me.

I currently live in Surrey with my husband and our primary‑school‑aged children.
